Sofia Pernas was born in Morocco. She came to California at the age of five. Her family lived mainly within Orange County. Her breakthrough was in 2015 when she earned her an education from the University of California San Diego. Pernas made minor appearances in NCIS and Leverage however she was able to land the part in the role of Marisa on The Young and the Restless. The actress who left The soap after 2016 got the part of Catalina as a regular on Jane the Virgin. The four-language model has appeared in The Brave, The Green Ghost as well as Secret Society of Second Born Royals. In Blood & Treasure, from 2019 until 2020 she portrayed Lexi Vaziri. Us Weekly revealed in May of 2020 that Pernas is dating Justin Hartley, her The Young and the Restless co-star. This romance began in the month of May, 2020 following Pernas' broke up with her husband Chrishell Stause. In May 2021, the news came out that Pernas Hartley has recently tied the knot in secret.
