Lucy Liu was born in the US. Liu is an American actor, singer and voice actor. As an intelligent and attractive actress, she serves as a role-model for several Asian actors in Hollywood that want to be successful. The early successes of her were boosted when she appeared in some of the most popular TV show. She played the evil Ling Woo. Following a dramatic rise in her popularity, she got roles on the big screen including Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. The film Kill Bill Volume 1, Quentin Tarantino, she gave an impressive performance in the role of Japanese crime boss O-Ren Ishii. During this time she was the main character in some failures at the box office including Rise: Blood Hunter. She then began to voice characters from animated films such as Kung Fu Panda or Tinker Bell. Small screen roles such as Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia didn't yield any results. Southland is a critically-acclaimed series of police dramas which included Liu in multiple role, allowed her to reaffirm her role as an actress. Liu chooses her roles with care in order to ensure she is not typecast in a competitive industry. Although she is extremely proud of her culture, she does not let that limit her creativity.
